A lovely 5 star review received for one of our recent holidays via responsibletravel.
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Wild and dramatic scenery, huge rocky escarpments and great views. Particularly spectacular are the “Frares”, a large group of
rock pinnacles close to the village of Quatretondeta. The walks were energetic and varied, the rosemary and other herbs were
flowering. The evening meals prepared by Pat were really wonderful.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
You will encounter what seems like a large proportion of the world’s stones so bring very comfy walking boots with good
cushioning. Maybe also bring whatever you need in case you still get sore spots on feet. Binoculars would be handy to get a
better view of eagles and vultures.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Am not sure about this one, possibly in a very general sense as did not really use other local businesses. Hopefully visiting
conservation areas and using the paths supports them for the apprecciation of everyone.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
A really great week, lovely weather, fresh air and exciting and interesting walks. Brian was very thoughtful in arranging routes
that I would particularly enjoy and gave a flavour of the history of the region. Practical arrangements and accommodation also
great. I would love to go back, possibly in spring to see the flowers.
Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
A great sunrise this morning and more to follow for the lucky Keswick runners who are hitting the trails around Abdet this next week!
