It’s great to hear from our guests with both positive and negative feedback. That way we can constantly improve our tailor made walking, nature and cultural holidays so that everyone gets the best out of their stay with us here in Grazalema.
Here are a few comments from some previous guests……

Hi Clive, well we had a fabulous time on our two walks. The first through meadows and cork oak woods, listening to frogs croaking and watching damsel flys and dragon flys skimming the river we were lucky enough to see a kingfisher and saw high up lots of bee eaters. The second day was an Orchid day and again we saw plenty, whilst listening to a lone cuckoo trying his hardest to attract a mate. Sue was a natural and made us more aware of everything around us. We really enjoyed her company and would be delighted to walk with her again.

It’s taken me a disgracefully long time to say thanks for a really enjoyable week in Grazalema, despite the weather (of which I attach a couple of reminders).
The walks were really memorable, and the insights you and Sue gave us enriched our experience of them. But I’m afraid I’m still trying to shed the couple of kilos I put on as a result of evenings spent sampling Grazalema’s excellent food (despite days which I thought were reasonably strenuous!) I’m sure we’ll want to come back, and I’ve passed on a link to your website to walking friends whom we think might also enjoy a visit.
Best wishes for many good years with Wildside.

We signed up for one week and stayed for two! – a truly wonderful, relaxing holiday. After a week I was overwhelmed by just how inexpensive it was. Consider that the all in price included pickup drop off at Malaga airport (nearly a two hour drive) and any other transport needed, all meals including breakfast with juice from oranges, picnic lunches together in some marvellous wilderness spots of the Grazalema and delicious diners in various restaurants in Grazalema.
Not only their warmth and hospitality but their knowledge of the area overwhelmed us. Sue can spot and name seemingly every bird and flower in the Grazalema and both are accomplished photographers and writers. Clive seems to be able to fix and organise anything that arises during the holiday, from gettng the taxis organised, picnics for vegetarians and any issues in hotels etc.
We enjoyed ourselves so much the first 5 days, and Sue and Clive were such good company, that Meredith and I decided to ask if we could stay a second week, if they would have us. So for two weeks we stayed with them. We really hated to leave but we had non-refundable plane tickets on Virgin Express back to Brussels and new guests arriving at our B&B in Champagne so we left December 4th as scheduled.
If you wish to share a special place with special people you can’t do better than spending a week with Sue and Clive.

More like staying with friends! Clive and Sue showed us the wonders of the Sierra de Grazelema mountains around their home. We booked the week over Christmas 2014 in the Grazelema mountains in southern Spain. It turned out to be one of the most relaxing yet interesting Christmases we’ve ever spent. Clive and Sue say they adjust their programme of hikes, walks and visits to suit how active you want to be. The result is a week that struck exactly the right note between chilling out and walking.
Clive picked us up from Seville station where we arrived by train from Waterloo, and as we climbed out of the valley into the mountains we could smell the air getting fresher. We’d been promised log fires and sunny blue skies, and they certainly delivered on both counts for the whole week we were there.
Our house that Clive arranged for us was spotless and fully equipped. Logs ready by the fire and a welcome bottle of wine, bread, cheese and basics in the kitchen.
What I hadn’t expected is to have seen so much of the flora and fauna of the Sierra de Grazelema while we were there, expertly shown around by Clive and Sue who are keen naturalists and photographers. By the end of the week they’d converted us English suburbanites into keen naturalists and nature photographers, too!
The ibex (wild mountain goats) are wonderful creatures, and we got terrific views of them as they came lower down the hillsides in the colder weather. Colonies of Griffon Vultures in the Gargante Verde are marvellous to watch – I’m grateful to Clive for lending me his 500mm lens (he happened to have a similar camera to mine) so I could get some great shots. We learned far more about the wildlife, the Sierra de Grazelema, and about life in Spain, than we ever could had we stayed in a hotel and arranged visits on our own.
All in all, a wonderful experience, and highly recommended.

What a wonderful holiday! To be honest we were not sure of our walking ability and worried if we would be able to keep up with the others in the group., It turned there was nothing to worry about. Clive tailored the walks to suit everybody… wonderful scenery and new sights. What a fabulous experience. The hotel was neat and clean and the restaurant food very good… (We ate in 4 different restaurants)

So great to get out of the city and into the fresh air of the Spanish Countryside. Clives guiding second to none and Sue’s nature knowledge simply amazing. Clive the “fixer” has the hotels and restaurants well prepared for foreign visitors and the selection of food for the week was very good. Picnics were great although its not a good idea to have soup in the rucksack! Thanks to all for a memorable holiday, we will be back very soon….
