The Basque Foothills of the Pyrenees

The Baztan valley is an area of extreme beauty, nestled in the area of the Bertiz national park in the foothills of the Pyrenees between Pamplona and San Sebastian. The area is a Mecca for birdwatchers throughout Europe as golden eagles and kites fly overhead and vultures breed in the cliff top ledges above us. Our portfolio of relaxed walks follows in the footsteps of Basque smugglers and shepherds and stretches of the Camino de Santiago. They allow us not only an insight into the exceptional flora and fauna of the area but also a privileged entrance into the cultural idiosyncrasies of Basque mountain life.

Spanish language and Walking House Parties

Many of our walking holidays are combined with expert Spanish language tuition for students of all levels, ages and walks of life. These Spanish language house parties are hosted by language trainers and cultural consultants with over 20 years experience. The walks, lunches and fiestas give us unlimited opportunities to learn and practise the Spanish language and the quality of our teaching is paralleled only by the sheer inspiration of its setting.

Family-run Business

We are a small family company, based on a tiny farm high up in the Pyrenees and use our personal contacts with local farmers and neighbours not only for fresh produce and home-made sheep's cheese, but to give our guests a one-off insight into Basque farming practices, its carnivals and gastronomy, its folklore and fiestas.

NO Single Supplements

Join us, our friends, neighbours and local Baztan people for an informal and relaxed farmhouse holiday. We run an open-house policy for just eight or nine guests and naturally provide single rooms, walks, teaching, cultural activities, restaurant meals, unlimited food, wine, Patxaran .... and washing machine ... WITHOUT SUPPLEMENT!
