The extensions of the oceanic Posidonia plant occupy the inlets and coves and especially the sandy areas around La Azohía-Cala Cerrada. The meadows of this plant are one of the most productive underwater ecosystems. The Posidonia de La Azohía meadow is the only one on the coast of the Murcia Region that blooms every year due to the special thermal conditions of its waters.
