The Spanish fir (Abies pinsapo), known locally as the pinsapo, is one of the most distinctive trees of the Andalusian mountains. A relict species that survived the climatic changes of past glacial periods, it now grows naturally in a very restricted part of southern Spain, including the Sierra de Grazalema.
