Points of interest
Sierra Norte de Sevilla Natural Park covers a broad area of the Sierra Morena in northern Seville province, Andalucía. Its gently rolling hills, extensive holm and cork oak woodlands, open dehesa pastureland and river valleys make it a rewarding destination for walking, birdwatching and exploring the quieter side of southern Spain.
The park forms part of a wider stretch of protected countryside, linking with Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche in Huelva province and Sierra de Hornachuelos in Córdoba. Together, these landscapes provide important habitat for wildlife, including threatened birds and mammals.
Among the area’s highlights are the waterfalls of the Huéznar River near San Nicolás del Puerto and the unusual former mining landscape of Cerro del Hierro. The park’s combination of natural scenery, wildlife and geological heritage gives it a character quite different from Andalucía’s better-known mountain destinations.
